Continuing the Journey with ResilienceFor past clients of South Pacific Private, their family, friends and loved ones
The capacity of human beings to face, overcome and even be strengthened, by the adversities of life is dependent upon us recognising and reclaiming our own resilience. The theme ‘Continuing the Journey with Resilience’ has been chosen for the 2008 Alumni Workshop to acknowledge and respect not only our differences along our journeys but also similarities. Our very special Alumni Workshop is becoming renowned for giving us the opportunity to reconnect with each other and therefore continue to grow and flourish.

Workshops were engaging. They kept bringing us back to ownership, responsibility and gave us tools to integrate all facets of self.
Connecting with others, knowing you are not alone in life’s journey. Re-committing to myself, to keep travelling the road less travelled. Keep discovering myself.
The venue, the presenters, the connection with people, the ability for me to be authentic – thank you for a wonderful day to remind me of the SPP fundamentals again and to remind me to keep my faith and let go.
I feel rejuvenated after the day and feel energized by the sessions.
Opportunity to catch up with people who attended the program. Refresh information leant through inpatient program. Good with workshops. Recovery forum.
Meeting old friends from SPP and new people.
Another opportunity to learn.
The honesty of the people.
Lovely reminder of my inner child. Venue Excellent. Classy & Elegant. Good to be here. Lovely to reconnect.
Being brought back to stop and look at myself again and my relating style that enables me to function without acknowledging my shadow side. Very challenging and encouraging bringing together the negative and positive aspects of myself to be a healthy whole woman.
The Power of Intention and Shadow Self were both fascinating, well spoken, and very fulfilling. The Panel at the end was real and fantastic.
Venue was excellent. Positive People. Opening and Closing Ceremony.
Role play about our shadow self. Very entertaining & enlightening. I was able to see how we all behave objectively. A good learning too. I also was amazed at how talented we all are.
Just to quickly share my experience of the retreat- I approached South Pac to get treatment for anxiety early 2006. I attended the alumni retreat last yr but was unable to (due to anxiety) sit through lectures/wshops. I am pleased to say through skills learnt at Sth Pac and ongoing support/therapy from a private psychologist I managed to stay, participate and enjoy all of this yrs retreat.
Panel at end was fantastic!

Those who attended were very friendly. Great venue.
The venue is great and the variety of the themes was good.
Honesty, able to understand and related.
The workshop on “shadow self”. It brought up lot of thoughts, and some feelings, that I was not aware of. This is not really part of the retreat, but for me, my emotions have been rather shut down lately. The retreat gave me an opportunity to start to feel some of the sadness, joy and laughter, in a place that was fairly safe. I also met a couple of people I knew, as clients, and I always find it enjoyable to meet some of the people from the staff (too many to name here)…
