We regularly receive testimonials, letters of thanks and life stories from clients and their families (……sometimes years after they have completed the program) giving us feedback on how the South Pacific Private programs have affected their lives.
We have included some of these here to give you some insight into the journeys experienced by clients.
Feedback from clients who have attended the Primary Program
To all the Staff at SPP!
Thank you so very much for the support and kindness which was given to me during my stay. I would love to write a card to each and every one of you – but will accept I am writing to all of you in fear of missing someone out. Each staff member here has been a huge part of my recovery and will be remembered fondly forever!
Thank you so much for never giving up on me and guiding me in the right direction.
Many thanks and much love,
Rebecca

Fiona,
I want to thank you for all of your support during my time here at South Pacific. It has been a journey, with lots of ups and downs.
I wasn't sure what it was that I would get from my time here, but now I am leaving I feel I have gained the best of all and that is the beginning of a relationship with myself.
Thank you so much for keeping my confidences when I didn't feel like sharing them. Thank you for showing me love and support through the trials with my family. Thanks for riding the waves of grief, rage, sadness and sham with me. And thank you for all of those contracts! I know they were good for me and hopefully I will remember that from now on.
I know I will pray daily for continued faith in myself and in my own recovery. Thank you for all that too.
I wish you all the best,
Sue

Dear South Pacific,
Thank you to all the staff that helped me on my way to recovery, this was my foundation, my rock! It has now been 9 months alcohol free. I don't need to drink to do life! One day at a time.
To all those struggling who think they will never get it – if I have learned anything that I can pass on:
1) be persistent – just keep going back to meeting and
2) get a sponsor or someone to work with you.
All our love and blessing,
Catherine.

Dear Mel,
Just a quick note to say hello! And I am doing really well. It's great to be alive and well and to be able to enjoy it all clean. I am going to about 4 or 5 meetings a week. The skills/tools I came out of SPP with have made a huge difference. I am starting aftercare this Wednesday. I am just taking baby steps and one day at a time. (74 days clean today) It feels amazing, but it isn't easy, it certainly takes a lot of work.
Thanks for everything, have a great week!
Zore

Dear Gale,
I am writing to thank you for my stay at SPP. Staying at South Pacific has taught me so many wonderful, useful and exciting new skills that I am able to incorporate into my life. Levelling has given me a chance to express myself to other people, without the use of blame. The confidence that I am developing within myself and the love for myself is very exciting and promising.
I have developed some wonderful friendships during my stay at SPP and have learned the advantages of group therapy. Sharing amongst clients that were in similar positions has healed that feeling of loneliness and developed connectedness.
I am currently attending the “Depression and Anxiety” workshop, every Saturday. I am thoroughly enjoying the program and feel it is a valuable option on completion of my stay at South Pacific.
One of the messages that I learnt through my stay at SPP was that my love addiction and depression is a life time illness that I can not cure, but can manage. This revelation has helped me break though my denial and continue to challenge it.
My stay at SPP was one of the most challenging times in my life, but most worthwhile. I want to thank everyone at SPP and hope the program continues on for other people like myself.
Kind Regards,
Katerina

Dear Tanya,
I wanted to write this letter to express to you my gratitude for the support you showed me when I was in SPP.
First, I want to thank you for allowing me back in the program after my *****up! I learnt a great deal from that experience. I also want to thank you for the session we had in my last week. For some reason I felt safe in opening up to you with something I had held on to for a long time.
I have gained so much during my stay at SPP and the program is just amazing. The staff, lectures, workshops, groups and meetings were all beneficial in my journey and I hope to be able to hold on to everything I learnt and continue on my recovery journey and use the skills in my life.
Thank you again,
Peace & happiness to you,
Bec

Dear Fiona,
Thank you so much for your amazing influence in my life. I feel so grateful for your compassion, genuine care, wisdom and guidance. It has been a real privilege and a pleasure to have been in your group. You are an inspiration and so professional in every sense. Most importantly, it is clear that you are passionate about your profession.
Without your guidance I would never have been able to come back to myself. I have great hope for my recovery and a lot of healthy fear. You have shown me humility and taught me about integrity. Your therapy has been a real gift from God to me. I am not quite so terrified about the prospect of getting to know Susie, and I thank you and my fellow clients for that. Remember, pamper yourself on your holiday, you richly deserve it.
Love,
Susie

Feedback from clients who have attended the one week Changes Program
Nancy,
“What the caterpillar calls the end, the rest of the world calls a butterfly”.
This quote, a reflection of transformation through the rare experience of challenged success. My words could not express what you and the program has done for me. Today I find myself in use of the many skills and tools learnt from teachings inspired by you.
I will forever be thankful for the support, spirit and guidance you and the program has shown me.
Love and Best Wishes, Lisa

Hi Nancy,
Thank you so much. I am so excited by the prospect of technicolour feelings – I want to embrace, accept and feel every feeling there is! No more hiding my light, no more apologising for being me. And for the special part you played in my journey, I am truly grateful.
Love, Kylie-Jo

Dear Nancy,
After doing Changes this week I have decided to adopt this as my motto – “Even if the most important person in your world rejects you, you are still real, and you are still okay” apparently written by anonymous person.
Thanks for everything, Sharon

Feedback from family members who have attended Family Week to support their loved one in treatment
Dear Maria,
We would like to thank you for this past amazing week. Your generosity of spirit and ability to foster a safe environment, created a space for us to re-evaluate our individual selves – responsibility and help us break down some walls to look at our own needs.
Thank you for being so present in the moment and listening to our stories with warmth and compassion and openness. Your love shines through and is an inspiration to continue our growth. You are for us the right teacher at the right time and we thank the universe for the opportunity to receive this gift.
With love, joy and hope,
Sisley and Graeme
