SPP is welcoming Dr Chris Walsh to Sydney to facilitate a 2-day Family
Constellations Workshop. This workshop will take place in a
theatre-in-the-round set up at the AMA Centre in St Leonards. A
practising Psychiatrist with 15 years experience in the AOD field,
Chris champions the process work of Family Constellations and its
ability to enable therapists and clients to negotiate family problems
(such as members who suffer form mental illnesses or addictions)
without the side-effects of blame or resentment that clients can
experience when working on family histories or dynamics.
Family Constellations are ideal for working with people who have family
issues or personal issues arising from their family story. Participant objectives for this workshop include:
- Familiarity & Understanding of phenomenological method as applied in family constellations;
- Understanding how transgenerational patterns operate in families;
- Gaining familiarity with the natural orders that support the healthy functioning of families;
- Understanding how to support families by supporting those natural orders;
- Being
able to see the bigger picture in families and thus avoid blaming. In
this way the therapist has greater chance of remaining effective;
- Becoming familiar with how family constellation workshops operate;
- Knowing how to support a client after they have done their own family constellation.
