Mission StatementSouth Pacific Private is a therapeutic centre of excellence in the integrated treatment of depression, anxiety, alcohol and other addictions, trauma, disordered eating, relationship issues and co-occurring conditions.
We provide a safe, therapeutic community where people can gain awareness
into their illness in a supportive, empathic environment.
Our purpose is to promote honesty, self-responsibility, respect for self and others,
with the goal of discovering meaning and development of self.
South
Pacific Private believes each Client is a unique and valuable
individual, and that through open communication, teamwork, education,
honesty, respect and support, SPP can provide a safe healing
environment for clients to make positive change in their lives on their
journey from addictions and mental/emotional illness.
Change is the first step in a lifelong recovery
process. This process can begin at South Pacific Private. South Pacific
Private believes recovery is maintained by continuous improvement in
each individual’s quality of life and offers an opportunity for the
‘discovery of one’s self’.
Tools of growth and recovery are provided to
Clients by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals. This team
includes doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, therapists, nurses and
allied health care members.
South Pacific Private believes group therapy and
a therapeutic supportive community are the most effective mode of
treatment for Clients admitted to South Pacific Private with chemical
dependencies, disordered eating and mood disorders. Within group and
individual frameworks, South Pacific Private addresses both the disease
symptoms and their underlying causes.
Our continuing care plan addresses preventative
measures, which help clients identify environments and situations
harmful to their recovery and health. We support and encourage actively
working within a 12-Step recovery program.
South Pacific’s family program is a cornerstone
component of treatment and we encourage the client’s family members to
participate in the treatment process to promote the continuing path of
change and growth after hospitalisation.
The programs at South Pacific Private are
designed to meet the needs of adults, 18 years of age and older, who
are chemically dependent or have emotional problems requiring inpatient
treatment in a structured therapeutic environment. Clients under 18
years and older than 15 are admitted to South Pacific Private after
individual assessments.
