Eating disorders can become entrenched and habitual and can be very
difficult to overcome. However help is available, and many do recover!
Unfortunately, those who do not seek treatment can find their health
and happiness seriously compromised. If left untreated, the physical
and emotional toll can lead to significant illness and in some
instances, death.
Research suggests that eating disorders are best treated with a combination of medical, dietary, and psychological therapies. Other factors associated with recovery from eating disorders involve the opportunity to understand the kind of lifestyle decisions needed to move beyond a life focused solely on food, weight and eating.
Through group work, education and support during meal times, South Pacific Private can assist you in understanding the causes of your disordered eating, as well as help you actively work toward a more balanced life.
