An exciting opportunity is available to join South Pacific Private as a Group Therapist – Psychologist, Counsellor, Psychotherapist in a part time capacity

We are recruiting for a Part-Time ‘Changes 1’ Group Therapist to join our dynamic Therapy team. This is a permanent part time role working one, 5 day week per month as part of a four week cycle.

  • Facilitate daily trauma-informed group therapy for clients presenting with addictive processes and co-occurring mental health issues
  • Provide comprehensive and professional trauma-informed case management to a delegated case-load of inpatient clients
  • Support a positive treatment experience for all clients by role modelling functional adult behaviour.

Extensive training will be provided for suitable applicant

-Minimum of Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology / Counselling or Graduate Diploma in Counselling / Psychotherapy
-Minimum of 2 years’ relevant work experience including group therapy facilitation
-Registered with an appropriate Counselling/Psychotherapy/Psychology body
-Experience working with clients who have experienced developmental trauma and who are living with addiction, mental health or relational concerns
-Experience in trauma-informed practice and delivery
-Excellent communication skills
-Independent worker with a team focus
-NSW National Police Check (willing to obtain one)
-CPR Certificate

Desirable Criteria:

-CSAT trained/working towards
-12 Step knowledge and/or lived experience

VR General Practitioner – Flexible Hours/Days

This part-time role offers flexible working hours and days, Monday – Sunday in a beautiful beach side setting in Curl Curl. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in SPP’s multi-disciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, general practitioners, registered nurses and counsellors.

The Medical Officer is responsible for providing medical treatment for individual inpatient clients at South Pacific Private Hospital, including admission assessments, detox management and ongoing medical evaluation and care. Care for Day Program clients is limited to intervention in medical emergency (code blue) while awaiting transfer to emergency department.

South Pacific Private is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Psychiatrist VMO to join our team on a contract basis at our Curl Curl, NSW facility. As a Psychiatrist VMO, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional mental health care to our clients, leveraging your expertise to provide comprehensive psychiatric assessments, diagnoses, and evidence-based treatments. This is a contract position, offering the flexibility to balance your clinical work with other professional commitments.

– Provide psychiatric care to clients admitted to South Pacific Private under your care at least weekly
– Responsible for ensuring psychiatric cover for your patients while you are away
– Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams weekly to ensure coordinated and holistic care for patients
– Maintaining detailed and accurate client records, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies
– Attend Day Program multi-disciplinary meetings as required
– To support the Clinical Director and GM in providing Clinical Governance for the organisation
– Provides urgent pre-admission psychiatric assessments where necessary

– A medical degree with specialist qualifications in Psychiatry and current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and Medicare Provider Number.
– Significant experience working as a Psychiatrist, preferably in a hospital or private practice setting
– Minimum of 1-2 years’ experience as a qualified Psychiatrist is required for this position
– Excellent clinical skills, including the ability to conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop effective treatment plans
– Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
– A commitment to delivering the highest standard of client-centred care
– Australian citizenship or permanent residency required
