Getting help for yourself

South Pacific Private is an NSQHS-accredited private hospital located minutes away from Curl Curl beach. We are the only private hospital on the Northern Beaches providing inpatient treatment for substance use concerns, trauma, and mental health conditions. If you hold private health insurance and are seeking local inpatient psychiatric care, our team can help you understand your options.

Every client at South Pacific Private is welcomed by our clinical team dedicated to providing wraparound support, including medical detox (if required), specialist nursing care, psychiatric assessment and treatment, counselling, psychotherapy, and ongoing, individualised case management.

Our programs are designed to treat co-occurring conditions simultaneously, within a structured 24/7 clinical environment. Treatment begins with a confidential, no obligation conversation with our Intake team.

Recognised by most major Australian health funds

South Pacific Private is a private, accredited psychiatric hospital, contracted with most major private health funds and the Department of Veterans’ Affairs.

Clients with private health insurance can claim for their treatment under the terms of their health fund agreement. Policy excess and wait periods may apply. Our Intake team can do a complimentary health fund check to confirm your eligibility.

If you are a veteran or hold a DVA card, our Intake team can help you understand your entitlements.

Important: Coverage depends on your individual policy and tier level. Not all policies cover psychiatric inpatient care – Bronze and Silver tier policies may have restricted or no cover. Our intake team can confirm your entitlements. Out-of-pocket costs are explained clearly before any commitment to treatment.

As an NSQHS-accredited private hospital, South Pacific Private brings a fully-fledged clinical team to provide comprehensive treatment for substance use conditions, behavioural conditions, trauma, anxiety, and depression

What to know before you call

Understanding what to expect means our first conversation can focus on your situation, not the basics.

Minimum 3-week commitment

Our inpatient program is residential and runs for a minimum of three weeks. Duration is confirmed through clinical assessment. This is not a short-stay or weekend program.

Abstinence-based model

This is a clinical requirement of the program and includes abstinence from alcohol and substances, smoking, sugar, caffeine, mobile phones/devices, or vigorous exercise throughout your stay. These conditions support the clinical and therapeutic environment.

Residential, onsite in Curl Curl

The inpatient program takes place onsite at our premises in Curl Curl, Northern Beaches. You will reside onsite for the duration of your program. Accommodation may be shared (single sex) or private rooms. Private rooms are allocated on clinical grounds.

Group-based treatment model

Treatment is delivered primarily through group psychotherapy alongside individual clinical sessions. Group participation is a core part of the program’s clinical approach.

Not sure if this is the right fit? That’s exactly what the intake conversation is for. Our team can help you understand whether our program suits your situation – no obligation, and the conversation is confidential. Get in touch →

The first step is a conversation, not a commitment

Reaching out to our intake team doesn’t mean you’ve decided to enter treatment. Our team can answer questions about programs, costs, and insurance in confidence, without pressure.

1. Contact The Intake Team
In a confidential, no-obligation conversation, our team can clarify costs, private health eligibility, and what the process involves.

2. Clinical Assessment
A free, confidential assessment will take place over the phone with a member of the Intake team. During this conversation, our team will assess whether our program is clinically suitable for your situation.

3. Admission
Upon discussion with you and our clinical team, a recommendation will be made including which program is best suited for your circumstances and history. An admission date will be provided and you will need a referral from your GP or Psychiatrist.

Our intake team is available to answer your questions.
