We have several robust outcome measures in place, including participation in the nationwide Health of the Nation Outcome Scale (HoNOS), the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), and the Generalised Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7).
Client Safety And Outcomes Are Our Priority
We have several robust outcome measures in place, including participation in the nationwide Health of the Nation Outcome Scale (HoNOS), the Patient Health Questionnaire (PHQ-9), and the Generalised Anxiety Disorder Scale (GAD-7).
Results show that clients who admit to South Pacific Private display self-reported improvements in vitality, social functioning, role functioning and mental health above and beyond that achieved at other participating mental health facilities.
Additionally, clients who admit to South Pacific Private show a significantly reduced likelihood of a further inpatient readmission.
Licensing & Accreditation
South Pacific Private is a registered Acute Care Psychiatric Hospital, fully licensed by the NSW Department of Health and is accredited against National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards and the National Standards for Mental Health.
South Pacific Private operates under the regulation and compliance of the:
- Private Health Facilities Act 2007
- Private Health Facilities Regulation 2017
- Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1996 and
- Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Regulation 2008
South Pacific Private prides itself on the level of safety, quality and care it provides and has maintained accreditation, as certified by independent assessors, as a part of quality management and improvement processes since inception.

Consumers & Carers
SPP has a dedicated Consumers & Carers Committee which is made up of former South Pacific Private clients and carers/family members of former SPP clients, who advise and make recommendations based on first-hand, lived experience.
