August 7, 2024

We are pleased to announce that South Pacific Private, Australia’s leading provider of mental health care, has achieved our second consecutive Rainbow Tick Accreditation.

First achieving the Rainbow Tick Accreditation in 2021, South Pacific Private is the first private hospital with a tailored LGBTQIA+ program to receive Rainbow Tick Accreditation.

The purpose of this accreditation is to ensure the hospital embeds LGBTQIA+ inclusive practices across the whole organisation. In preparation for our reaccreditation, we have continued to review our processes and techniques, introducing new policies where needed, to provide a safe environment for anyone seeking treatment or wishing to work at South Pacific Private.

This voluntary Rainbow Tick Accreditation Program (through Australian General Practice Accreditation Limited) provides national recognition to those organisations that meet the Rainbow Tick Standards. This also reassures LGBTQIA+ consumers and staff that an organisation is aware of, is responsive to, and is understanding of their needs.

Assessors met with our Cultural Safety team, Senior Leadership team, representatives from each department and some of our LGBTQIA+ clients to gain an understanding of how our LGBTQIA+ inclusive practices and policies are embedded in our day-to-day programs.

We would like to thank our dedicated staff for their commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment to ensure that we uphold the values of diversity and inclusion within our organisation.

At South Pacific Private, we believe that everyone deserves access to leading-edge treatment shaped to support their unique identity, background and lived experience. We are committed to providing a safe, inclusive and compassionate environment in which individuals can bring their whole selves to the recovery process.
